The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Instituto as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Instituto smashed 14th ranked Comunicaciones in Cordoba 89-64. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Comunicaciones. Instituto shot 63.2 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Ignacio Beltramino (179) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and Dominican Enmanuel Labata who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Instituto players scored in double figures. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was point guard Agustin Passone (180-2003) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and guard Francisco Llanos (182-2001) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Instituto (29-3) have an impressive 16-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Comunicaciones at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 20 games lost. Comunicaciones will play next round against Atenas trying to get back on the winning streak. Instituto will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Riachuelo LR in La Rioja.
