Regular Season Round 6: Gimnasia - Riachuelo LR 76-98

There was no surprise in Comodoro Rivadavia where bottom-ranked Gimnasia CR (0-5) was crushed by eleventh ranked Riachuelo (3-4) 98-76 on Sunday. Riachuelo dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gimnasia CR's 28. It was a great shooting night for Riachuelo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Center Juan Farias (-2000) scored 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Mateo Corso (185-2003) chipped in 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Valentino Ayala (190-2005) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and Uruguayan guard Thomas Araujo (192-2004) scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Gimnasia CR's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Riachuelo moved-up to ninth place. Defending champion Gimnasia still closes the standings with five games lost.
