Not a big story in a game in Corrientes where 9th rankedRegatas (9-8) was defeated by third ranked Obras (13-6) 73-61 on Thursday. Obras outrebounded Regatas 46-27 including a 36-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech, agency: Interperformances) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Chilean point guard Felipe Inyaco (192-2002) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Obras' coach Diego Vadell used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward Charles Thomas (203-1986, college: Arkansas) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and Mexican point guard Gustavo Aguirre (189-1988) added 11 points respectively for lost side. Obras moved-up to second place. Loser Regatas keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Union. Obras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Regatas will play against Ferro (#11) in Buenos Aires and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
