The game in La Rioja supposed to be also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengersPlatense (13-5) played at the court of fifth ranked Riachuelo (12-6). Riachuelo smashed Platense 90-66 . It ended at the same time the 11-game winning streak of Platense. Riachuelo dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Platense 's 36. They outrebounded Platense 46-35 including 35 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for guard Joaquin Fernandez (189-2003) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 8 assists. Center Fabricio Diaz (205-2006) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. Riachuelo LR's coach Gonzalo Castillo felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Venezuelan Henyerberth Mata (201-2005) replied with 8 points and 16 rebounds and forward Santino Mazzucchelli (196-2004) added 14 points in the effort for Platense. Riachuelo have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 12-6 record. Platense at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost.
