There was no surprise when 5th rankedSalta Basket (5-6) lost at home to third ranked Villa S.Martin (7-3) 79-75 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for naturalized Spanish swingman Maximiliano Martin (190-1990) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Emiliano Correa (188-1991) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Four Villa S.Martin players scored in double figures. Forward Facundo Arias (195-1993) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Diego Peralta (195-1994) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Salta Basket in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Villa S.Martin moved-up to second place. Loser Salta Basket dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Villa S.Martin will meet Estudiantes T. (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Salta Basket will have a break next round.
