The most exciting game of round 8 in the La Liga took place in Corrientes. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of higher rankedRegatas (3-2) to sixteenth ranked Union (2-3) 74-73 on Tuesday evening. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Martin Cabrera (179-1996) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and American center Chris Vogt (213-1999, college: Wisconsin, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Union SF players scored in double figures. The former international forward Claudio Ramirez (200-1990) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Union moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Olimpico. Regatas at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Obras.
