The game between third rankedSalta Basket (8-4) and fifteenth ranked Independiente (4-7) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Salta Basket was crushed by Independiente in Santiago del Estero 85-64 . Independiente dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Salta Basket 's 34. Point guard Andres Lugli (188-1995) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American forward Kobe Julien (198-1999, college: Arkansas St.) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Independiente's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Tomas Botta with 16 points and 4 assists and guard Sahir Abdala (185-2005) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Independiente moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Riojana. Salta Basket at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. Independiente will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Salta Basket will play on the road against Suardi and is hoping to win this game.
