Regular Season Round 23: Obera - Platense 69-76

Very expected game when 10th ranked Obera (8-9) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Platense (12-5) 76-69 on Sunday. Platense forced 23 Obera turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Santino Mazzucchelli (196-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Joaquin Goncalves helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. Colombian point guard Edwin Niebles (178-2005) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and guard Albano Costa (192-2006) scored 20 points. Five Platense and four Obera players scored in double figures. Platense maintains sixth place with 12-5 record. Loser Obera keeps the tenth position with nine games lost. Platense will meet league's second-placed La Union in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obera will play against Quimsa (#12) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
