There was no surprise in Mar del Plata where 14th rankedPenarol (9-17) was defeated by fifth ranked Platense (17-8) 74-70 . Penarol was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Giovanni Pappalardi who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. Vicente Blazica accounted for 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Platense players scored in double figures. Guard Gonzalo Aman (190-2008) came up with 24 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Penarol in the defeat. Penarol's coach Tomas Sirochinsky rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Platense have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 17-8 record.
