Regular Season Round 37: La Union - Ferro 85-80

Everything went according to plan when third ranked La Union (22-8) defeated 6th ranked Ferro (18-10) in Formosa 85-80 on Sunday. La Union made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Franco Gimenez (190) nailed a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Benjamin Ayala accounted for 20 points. Guard Ulises Martorell (198-2006) came up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Juan Clavell added 21 points respectively for Ferro in the defeat. La Union maintains third place with 22-8 record having just eleven point less than leader Regatas. Loser Ferro keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. La Union will meet at home Independ.O. (#7) in the next round. Ferro will play against Obera and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
