An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Rio de Janeiro. Top-ranked BrazilianFlamengo faced 3rd ranked Panamanian Toros . Host Flamengo (2-0) smashed guests from David (0-2) 99-72 . The game was mostly controlled by Flamengo. Toros managed to win fourth quarter 25-24 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Toros 49-24 including a 35-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Flamengo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lucas Siewert (208-1997, college: Colorado) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) who added 12 points and 9 assists during the contest. Five Flamengo players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Panamanian Adalberto Rojas (200-1986) responded with 18 points and American point guard Greg Foster (190-1989, college: SVSU) scored 7 points and 9 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Flamengo maintains first position with 2-0 record, which they share with Sesi/Franca and Minas. Loser Toros still closes the standings with two games lost. They share the position with Quimsa and Los Leones.
