The game between closely ranked teams ended with 15th ranked Brasilia's (2-13) road loss to fourteenth ranked Cerrado (3-11) 85-97 on Wednesday. Cerrado dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Brasilia's 38. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Henrique Coelho (184-93) who scored 22 points and 7 assists. Power forward Alex Doria (205-97, college: St.Edward's) chipped in 14 points and 5 rebounds. Cerrado's coach Bruno Lopes used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) who recorded 21 points and 4 assists and the former international center Caio Torres (211-87) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Cerrado maintains fourteenth place with 3-11 record. Brasilia lost their fifth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Cerrado will face higher ranked Corinthians (#9) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
