Regular Season Round 9: Corinthians - Campo Mourao 96-72
Date: January 7, 2021
Not a big story in a game in Sao Paulo where 12th ranked Campo Mourao (5-10) was outplayed by ninth ranked Corinthians (6-5) 96-72 on Thursday. Corinthians made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Corinthians had a 35-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Arthur Bernardi (205-90, college: HBU) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Ricardo Fischer (183-91) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. Four Corinthians players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Luizinho Lima (196-93) who recorded 14 points and 9 rebounds and Marciel Paje Santos (201-91) added 6 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Corinthians. They maintain ninth place with 6-5 record. Newly promoted Campo Mourao dropped to the eleventh position with ten games lost. Corinthians will face Caxias do Sul (#15) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
