Regular Season Round 16: Brasilia - Cerrado 73-86

Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Brasilia: Cerrado (#13) and Brasilia (#16). Brasilia was defeated at home 73-86 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Naturalized American guard Kevin Crescenzi (193-93, college: Dartmouth) fired 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Paulo Da Costa (193-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Five Cerrado players scored in double figures. American forward Sammy Yeager (193-89, college: CS Fullerton) produced 27 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Eric Laster (198-93, college: Loyola, MD) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cerrado (7-14) moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Brasilia stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Cerrado will face higher ranked Corinthians (#7) in Sao Paulo in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Brasilia will play at home against Caxias do Sul (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
