NBB top team - Flamengo (27-2) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed twelfth ranked Caxias do Sul (9-20) 77-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caxias do Sul. They outrebounded Caxias do Sul 43-30 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of international point guard Yago Matheus (173-99) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 assists and American-Mexican guard Luke Martinez (190-90, college: Wyoming, agency: Pro Sports) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Flamengo players scored in double figures. Flamengo's coach Gustavo Conti used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Eddy Carvalho (197-87) with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Shilton Santos (198-82) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Flamengo have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-2 record. Newly promoted Caxias do Sul keeps the twelfth place with 20 games lost. Flamengo are looking forward to face Cerrado (#13) in Brasilia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Caxias do Sul will play at home against Pato Basquete and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
