Regular Season Round 7: Londrina - Maringa 86-60

Londrina's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Maringa (1-4) 86-60 on Friday. It was an exceptional evening for guard Pedro Silva (183-98, college: S.Mountain) who led the winners and scored 31 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Forward Rafael Santos (200-99) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Four Londrina players scored in double figures. Erike Lima (202-99) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Pedro Rodrigues (175-0) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for Maringa in the defeat. Maringa's coach Jamison Silva gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Londrina left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Maringa. It was Maringa's third loss in a row. Londrina will meet at home higher ranked Brusque (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maringa will play against the league's leader Ponta Grossa and hope to win that game.
