Regular Season Round 8: UniFacisa - Pinheiros 36-119

Very expected game when bottom-ranked UniFacisa (0-3) was smashed by top-ranked Pinheiros (4-0) in Paraiba 119-36 on Thursday. Pinheiros dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to UniFacisa's 30. Pinheiros forced 37 UniFacisa turnovers and outrebounded them 48-24 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 2 passes made by UniFacisa's players. The winners were led by international center Dikembe Andre (206-99) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and forward Paulo Scheuer (203-99) supported him with 19 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Five Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Pinheiros' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 7 points and 9 rebounds by Ivan Neto (196-2) did not help to save the game for UniFacisa. Guard Gabriel Machado (198-2) added 8 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Pinheiros have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Loser UniFacisa still closes the standings with three games lost.
