No shocking result in a game when third ranked Minas (9-2) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Brasilia (2-10) 82-77 on Thursday. Bahamas forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and American guard Shaquille Johnson (194-90, college: Marshall, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Miller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Colombian swingman Siaan Rojas (201-96, college: WWU) responded with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Germerson Barbosa (205-93) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Four Minas and five Brasilia players scored in double figures. Minas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Flamengo. Brasilia lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
