No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Rio Claro (11-16) edged on the road bottom-ranked Brasilia (5-22) 80-79 on Saturday. Rio Claro made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Jamaal Smith (176-1985, college: N.Mexico) scored 27 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Betinho Duarte (195-1988) chipped in 18 points during the contest. At the losing side American-Argentinian guard Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Germerson Barbosa (205-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds.
