Rio Claro can celebrate their first win this season after four consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Osasco (0-4) 79-54. They outrebounded Osasco 45-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Desmond Holloway (194-1990, college: Coastal, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Cassiano Bueno (189-1997) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Luiz Paulo Dos Santos (210-1989, college: Slippery Rock) answered with 14 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Gabriel Oliveira (202-2001) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Osasco. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rio Claro (1-4) left bottom position moving up to ninth place. It was Osasco's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Rio Claro will play against higher ranked Corinthians (#7) in Sao Paulo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
