Another interesting game was again a derby between two local teams from Sao Paulo: Vivo/Franca (#1) and Pinheiros (#5). Pinheiros was smashed at home by 24 points 63-87 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Vivo/Franca dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Pinheiros' 40. Vivo/Franca forced 19 Pinheiros turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Wesley Ferreira (200-1995) who scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. The former international point guard Alexey Borges (185-1995) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Point guard Tiago Faria (178) produced 20 points and 6 assists and center Agapy Santos (205) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Pinheiros' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Vivo/Franca (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Loser Pinheiros dropped to the sixth place with four games lost. Vivo/Franca's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sao Paulo Sao Paulo.
