Very significant was Corinthians' 84-72 road victory against Brasilia. They outrebounded Brasilia 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Caue Borges (187-1991) nailed 29 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Leonardo Demetrio (203-1994) accounted for 27 points and 11 rebounds. American guard Thomas Cooper (196-1992, college: Calgary) came up with 15 points and 4 assists and the other American import guard Christian Alaekwe (193, college: St.Thomas, TX) added 14 points respectively for Brasilia in the defeat. Four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Corinthians will play against Cerrado in Brasilia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Brasilia will play at home against Pinheiros to get more than just one victory in their record.
