Bottom-rankedPonta Grossa managed to get the second consecutive victory on Friday night. This time newly promoted Ponta Grossa won against seventh-ranked Blumenau 63-45 . It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that Ponta Grossa is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. And what about a second win in a row after ...eleven consecutive losses. Ponta Grossa dominated down low during the game scoring 34 of its points in the paint compared to Blumenau 's 12. Ponta Grossa forced 22 Blumenau turnovers and had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Colombian guard Manuela Rios (165-1997) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international center Nadia Colhado (193-1989) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Colombian forward Mabel Martinez (180-1986) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and forward Milena Rodrigues (174-1998) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Blumenau. Ponta Grossa (2-11) moved-up to tenth place. Blumenau at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost.
