The game was mostly controlled by Minas. Vasco da Gama managed to win second period25-20 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Vasco da Gama 50-30 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American Jeremy Hollowell (203-1994, college: Georgia St., agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Winicius Braga (204-2005) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Minas' coach Leonardo Costa used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Paulo Scheuer (200-1999) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Marcus Vinicius (205-1984) added 12 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Five Minas and four Vasco da Gama players scored in double figures.
