The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Espanol de Talca as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Espanol de Talca defeated 5th ranked Quilicura at home 80-66. Espanol de Talca looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was center Claudio Cabrera (200-88) who scored 23 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Gianncarlo Caraboni (-90) chipped in 11 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Espanol de Talca players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jordan Little (203-96, college: KSU) who recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Marcelo Lopez (-91) added 16 points respectively. Quilicura's coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Espanol de Talca have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Quilicura lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Puerto Montt. Quilicura will play next round against Universidad Catolica trying to get back on the winning streak. Espanol de Talca will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Universidad de Concepcion on the road.
