Regular Season Round 11: Puerto Montt - Las Animas 88-84

Undefeated Las Animas (13-1) recorded its first loss on the court of fifth ranked Puerto Montt. Visitors were defeated by Puerto Montt 88-84. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Las Animas. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Carlos Aranda (200-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds. Guard Julio Ovando (-98) accounted for 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Puerto Montt players scored in double figures. Argentinian power forward Cristian Amicucci (200-85) came up with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international Claudio Naranjo (191-87) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Las Animas in the defeat. Puerto Montt maintains fifth place with 4-8 record. Las Animas at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. Puerto Montt will play against higher ranked CD Puerto Varas (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Las Animas will play against AB Ancud and hope to get back on the winning track.
