There was no surprise when 5th ranked Puerto Montt (1-5) lost at home to leader Puerto Varas (6-0) 82-69 on Friday. Puerto Varas looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Franco Morales (179-92) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Carlos Villagran (185-0) accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Puerto Varas players scored in double figures. Forward Matias Sepulveda (188-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international center Jorge Valencia (206-77) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Puerto Montt in the defeat. Puerto Varas maintains first place with 6-0 record. Loser Puerto Montt dropped to the sixth position with five games lost.
