Regular Season Round 9: Valdivia - Castro 51-58

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Castro (2-5) defeated on the road 4th placed Deportivo Valdivia (4-5) 58-51 on Saturday. Venezuelan Luis Merida (190-92) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Daniel Arcos (190-94) chipped in 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Castro players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Argentinian point guard Enzo Amado (183-95) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and Santiago Soulodre (195-98) scored 8 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Castro maintains fifth place with 2-5 record. Loser Deportivo Valdivia keeps the fourth position with five games lost.
