Rather predictable result when thirteenth ranked Puerto Montt (4-13) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Temuco (1-16) 99-95 on Saturday. Puerto Montt made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Puerto Montt outrebounded Temuco 47-36 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Argentinian forward Martin Chervo (200-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 18 rebounds. American forward Josh Morris (203-1993, college: UTPB) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Brazilian power forward Diego Dias Silva (207-1990) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Jeremy Ireland (200-1996, college: Elmhurst) added 28 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Puerto Montt and four Temuco players scored in double figures. Puerto Montt maintains thirteenth place with 4-13 record. Temuco lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Puerto Montt will meet higher ranked Valdivia (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Temuco will play against Puerto Varas (#10) and hope to win that game.
