Regular Season Round 2: Temuco - Laja 97-24

Temuco used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from 97-24 on Sunday night. Temuco held Laja to an opponent 15.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 49.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Temuco forced 42 Laja turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Laja's players. The best player for the winners was American forward Jessica Martino (175, college: Delaware St.) who had a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds. Francisca Barria (-1996) chipped in 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Anabel Fernandez produced 5 points and 9 rebounds and Maria Rocha added 3 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Temuco will meet Conce in the next round. Laja will play against Conce and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
