Caimanes dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sabios ' 38. Caimanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) scored 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import center Myles Carter (206-1997, college: Seattle) chipped in 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Caimanes' coach Jaime Ortiz used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezuelan forward Miguel Fernandez (194-1992) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Dominican swingman Braynt De La Cruz (198-2002) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sabios players scored in double figures.
