The game in La Romana was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Metros (4-3) played at the court of 6th ranked Caneros (2-5). Metros did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 101-84 on Tuesday. Metros looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American Brandon Moss (208, college: LSUA) scored 18 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import swingman Terry Larrier (203-1995, college: UConn) chipped in 14 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Yeison Colome (190-1996) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and naturalized Spanish Jhonatan Araujo (208-1996) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds. Five Metros and four Caneros players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Metros moved-up to third place, which they share with Marineros. Caneros lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Metros will meet Marineros (#4) in the next round. Caneros will have a break next round.
