Regular Season Round 9: Victoria - Audaz 61-60

Round in Liga Femenina means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Quito where host Victoria (7-0) edged league's leader Audaz (6-1) 61-60 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Audaz. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Victoria forced 24 Audaz turnovers. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Dayanna Salcedo (176-89) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Doris Lasso (164-93) chipped in 15 points. Victoria's coach Patricio Ponce used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Marjorie Caicedo (180-90) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Olga Olives (169-90) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively. Victoria have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Audaz at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Victoria.
