Regular Season Round 8: Bulldogs - San Marcos 46-52

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Bulldogs (4-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by San Marcos (6-0) 52-46. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Bulldogs. Worth to mention a great performance of center Gladis Maravilla (185-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and center Linda Galvez (180-83) who added 7 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Center Leslie Sermeno (176-97) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and guard Melany Sanchez (167-4) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Marcos have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Defending champion Bulldogs dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Salvadorenas. San Marcos will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Bulldogs will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lincoln in San Salvador and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
