L.M.Mons 2 rallied past Santa Tecla in the opener. L.M.Mons. 2 forced 21 Santa Tecla turnovers. Santa Tecla was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Monica Aristondo (163-92) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. Guard Cibeles Valencia (175-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) for the winners. Cuban Leidys Oquendo (180-82) answered with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and Dominican guard Genesis Evangelista (180-93) added 9 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Santa Tecla. Santa Tecla's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
