Very expected game in Santa Tecla where 8th ranked Salvadorenas (2-5) were rolled over by leader Lincoln (6-0) 68-34 on Saturday. Lincoln held Salvadorenas to an opponent 21.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.1 percent accuracy of the winners. Lincoln forced 31 Salvadorenas turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Salvadorenas' players. It was a great evening for swingman Yurizell Funes (175-1) who led her team to a victory scoring 13 points and 9 rebounds. Adriana Rivas (175-96) helped adding 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Lincoln players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Fatima Tejada (175-5) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks and point guard Ana Ruiz (159-5) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Lincoln. They maintain second place with 6-0 record behind leader San Marcos. Loser Salvadorenas keep the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Se7en. Lincoln will meet at home Bulldogs (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Salvadorenas will play against L.M.Mons. (#12) in Santa Ana and hope to secure a win.
