San Salvador defeated Metapan to draw things even in the Finals. San Salvador made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Strangely Metapan outrebounded San Salvador 47-34 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when San Salvador made 16 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Chris Blake (195-1988, college: Detroit) who scored 27 points, 9 rebounds and 6 blocks. Panamanian Alejandro Scantelbury (199-1993) chipped in 28 points and 5 blocks. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 20 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and Dominican point guard Jaison Valdez (188-1995) added 26 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks respectively for the hosts.
