The most exciting game of round 11 in the Liga Superior took place in Santa Tecla. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Sivar (8-3) to sixth ranked Salvadorenas (6-4) 42-41 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sivar. Salvadorenas forced 23 Sivar turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Andrea Canales (162-2004) who scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Gabriela Alfaro (167-2004) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. Center Samantha Vasquez (162-2002) produced 13 points and center Olga Trujillo (186-1989) added 5 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Salvadorenas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 6-4 record. Sivar at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Salvadorenas are looking forward to face Liceo (#9) in the next round. Sivar will have a break next round.
