A very close game took place in between Santa Ana 2 and Salvadorenas 2. Seventh ranked Santa Ana 2 (1-6) got a very close home victory over 4th placed Salvadorenas 2 (2-4). Santa Ana 2 managed to escape with a 2-point win 48-46 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Salvadorenas 2. Santa Ana 2 held Salvadorenas 2 to an opponent 24.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 28.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Santa Ana 2 forced 27 Salvadorenas 2 turnovers. It was a great evening for guard Ileana Mazariego (154-2001) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Salvadorenas 2's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Santa Ana 2 maintains seventh place with 1-6 record. Loser Salvadorenas 2 keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Santa Tecla ITD. Santa Ana 2 will meet higher ranked San Miguel (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salvadorenas 2 will play against LMMR 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
