Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Cojute (10-10) edged on the road 10th ranked Santa Ana (4-16) 99-98 on Thursday. Cojute looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American swingman Andravious Smith (196-1995, college: Tougaloo) notched a double-double by scoring 43 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds to lead the effort and Lee Vasquez (176-1991) supported him with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 12 assists and 6 steals. Even a double-double of 31 points, 22 rebounds and 7 assists by American swingman Shian Bradshaw (194-1995, college: Wake Tech CC) did not help to save the game for Santa Ana. Puerto Rican center Giovanny Martinez (206, college: Jarvis Christian) added 24 points and 16 rebounds for the hosts. Four Santa Ana players scored in double figures. Cojute maintains sixth position with 10-10 record. Santa Ana lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 16 games lost.
