Very important is a road loss of Santa Tecla Elite against Santa Tecla F1 on Tuesday night. Visiting Santa Tecla Elite was crushed by Santa Tecla F1 in 81-53. Santa Tecla F1 forced 22 Santa Tecla Elite turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Santa Tecla F1 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Santa Tecla Elite's players. Point guard Paola Campos (165-2001) notched 22 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Camila Lima (172-2003) supported her with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) by point guard Karla Candelas (172-1988) did not help to save the game for Santa Tecla Elite. Karla Alas (165-1996) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Santa Tecla F1 will meet at home UCA in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Santa Tecla Elite will play against UCA and hope to secure a win.
