An interesting game for Teclenas (5-2) which hosted in Santa Tecla 4th placed Sivar (3-3). Third ranked Teclenas managed to get a 5-point victory 56-51. Teclenas held Sivar to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 34.4 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Sivar 64-49 including a 43-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Teclenas made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of center Paola Ortiz (172-2001) who helped to win the game recording 5 points and 17 rebounds. Center Jennifer Jovel (167-1999) contributed with 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Wendy Guevara (165-2001) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Monica Canjura (167-2002) added 7 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Sivar. Teclenas have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 5-2 record having just two point less than leader Santa Tecla Elite. Sivar at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Teclenas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sivar will play against Santa Tecla F1 (#8) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
