No shocking result in a game when third ranked Brujos (3-2) crushed 8th ranked Santa Ana (1-5) in Izalco 80-56. Brujos dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Santa Ana's 24. Brujos forced 20 Santa Ana turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Santa Ana's players. Brujos brought some defensive toughness making 13 blocks. Dominican forward Adonis Lopez (-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and Dominican forward Alejandro De Los Santos (193-2002) chipped in 24 points. Dominican forward Frankyn Batista (198-1999, college: Pace) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and center Teodoro Romero (202-1985) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brujos maintains third place with 3-2 record having four points less than leader Cojute. Santa Ana at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Brujos will play against Santa Tecla (#6) on the road in the next round. Santa Ana will play against Santiagueno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
