There was a small surprise when eighth rankedBrujos (2-3) defeated on the road 5th ranked Independiente (2-3) 92-78 on Sunday. Brujos forced 24 Independiente turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Oliver Ferrerira scored 30 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American guard Marcus Millien (188-2000, college: Carlow) chipped in 32 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Brujos' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American swingman Andravious Smith (198-1995, college: Tougaloo) with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import Nick Moore (198-1991, college: Alliance) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Four Independiente players scored in double figures. Brujos moved-up to sixth place, which they share with defeated Independiente. Independiente lost third consecutive game.
