Regular Season Round 6: Villa Nueva - Amatitlan 70-64

The biggest surprise took place in Villa Nueva where host Villa Nueva (3-1) beat league's leader Amatitlan (3-1) 70-64 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Amatitlan. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The best player for the winners was center Bernie Diaz (200-81) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points and 12 rebounds. Enrique Samayoa (193-82) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Luis Arias (-98) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and forward Luis Perez (191-97) added 7 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Amatitlan's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Villa Nueva keeps a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Amatitlan. Amatitlan will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest and make it back to the top of the standings. Villa Nueva will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Forza on the road.
