Very significant was Ecuadorian Victoria's (#4) 57-48 victory against one of their biggest challengers Colombian Leonas. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The guests were ahead by 4 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 19-9 run, which allowed them to win the game. Victoria brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Belarusian forward Tatyana Troina (188-81, college: S.Carolina) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Doris Lasso (164-93) supported her with 16 points and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by Brazilian power forward Julia Torres (190-93, college: MWSU) did not help to save the game for Leonas. Marta Peralta (171-94) added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Victoria (1-2) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Pastoras de Lara. It was Leonas' third loss in a row. Defending Colombian champion still keep top with three games lost. They share the position with Carl A-Z. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
