Another exciting game for BrazilianCorinthians (1-1) which played in Asuncion against Paraguayan San Jose (0-2). Third ranked Corinthians won 85-80 . Corinthians made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. American guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 assists for the winners and Lucas Caue (206-1998) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and American swingman Austin Wrighten (192-1996, college: Lynchburg) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Four Corinthians and five San Jose players scored in double figures. San Jose's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. It was the only win of guest team this round and in all other games host teams recorded victories. Despite that victory Corinthians went down to fourteenth position due to points difference, which they share with Defensor. San Jose at the other side still closes the standings with two games lost.
