Regular Season Round 9: Racers - Barreteras 76-65

An interesting game for Racers (5-4) which hosted in Saltillo second-best Barreteras (4-5). Third ranked Racers managed to get a 11-point victory 76-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Barreteras. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Racers dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Barreteras' 28. Charisse Burruel nailed 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side and Nicole Millender accounted for 15 points and 7 rebounds. Puerto Rican point guard Kiara Quinones-Noa (165-93) came up with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Ashanti Hunt (180-96, college: BCU) added 17 points respectively for Barreteras in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Racers have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Barreteras at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Mexcaltecas and Escaramuzas. Racers will again meet at home Barreteras (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Barreteras will have a break next round.
