LMBPF top team - Aztks (11-1) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Marineras (0-12) in Ciudad de Mexico 82-60. Aztks dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Marineras' 14. They outrebounded Marineras 44-20 including a 31-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aztks looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for the former international Daniela Soto (-96) who led her team to a victory with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Cuban center Yayma Boulet (193-84) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Aztks' coach felt very confident using entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Argentinian guard Candela Foresto (163-99) replied with 20 points and Mayra Gil (-3) added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists in the effort for Marineras. Aztks have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Aztks maintains first position with 11-1 record, which they share with Lobas. Loser Marineras still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Aztks' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Ciudad de Mexico Quetzales.
