Regular Season Round 11: Astros - Fuerza Regia 103-73

There was a small surprise when third ranked Astros (11-7) rolled over leader Fuerza Regia (10-7) in Guadalajara 103-73 on Sunday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Astros shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 53.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Jordan Loveridge (198-93, college: Utah) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Four Astros players scored in double figures. Astros' coach Sergio Valdeolmillos felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nigerian-American power forward OD Anosike (203-91, college: Siena) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and American guard Daniel Bejarano (193-91, college: Colorado St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Fuerza Regia in the defeat. Astros have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Libertadores. Defending champion Fuerza Regia still keeps top position with seven games lost. Astros will meet Abejas (#4) in the next round. Fuerza Regia will play against the league's second-placed Dorados in Chihuahua and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
